"Styling and makeup is all about expression and exploration".
I began exploring my passion for makeup and styling while studying music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In 2014, I completed the Art of Colors Professional Makeup Artist Certified Training [ANBOS] to hone my skills and take my passion to the next level. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many artists, designers and filmmakers on a wide variety of shoots. In each shoot or project, I find joy in the process of developing a concept — the raw idea behind a film, a fashion shoot, a commercial or a play. I work with these concepts and build them out, creating a world, an aesthetic and a style that brings a tangible reality and texture to the vision of the creator.
"Clothes and makeup are more than the final coat of polish at the end of a project".
They are inherent to the story itself. That’s why, before any outfit has been selected or eye shadow chosen, I work with the team, asking questions to draw out the details of the story, to discover what the brand or person is all about. Only once that is understood, do I begin looking for the tools to bring that to life. And that’s where the fun begins; finding those unique items and looks that will transmit an ethos and a narrative before any word has been uttered or idea explained. This hunt to find just the right items, textures or colors and working with a team to realize a vision is what keeps me coming back to styling and makeup artistry. It’s a skill set I’d love to share with you to help you achieve your vision, to weave your world.
